Judith on Flickr.
The model was Judith and she was awesome! Such a great pose, but all I had to paint on was this dark reddish paper and the entire painting turned out very dark overall, but that’s okay I guess. Except what is up with that huge flip flop? Sometimes I think the subtle foreshortening is going to be the death of me.

I can’t remember this model’s name but she was so beautiful I don’t think I even captured a smidgeon of it.

Figure Study May 10 on Flickr.
I loved Karen’s setup last night with the little table, two coffee cups, and two chairs. I was happy going into the painting. But blame it on a long work day prior to the session or my current depressive mood, but the painting just didn’t turn out like I’d planned. I was bummed. But I did something I never really do, I continued to work on it today, the day after the session. There are still some issues, but hey, at least I didn’t rip it up!

3-hour figure study. Acrylic on Canson paper, 19x25 inches. Holy Pattern! I liked the fabric that Vicki brought, but where is the figure? Oh yeah, I see her. I thought I’d challenge myself with a profile and it was tough going for me. This model Lucy was amazing, though, I don’t think I saw her so much as twitch the entire time.

3-Hour Figure Study with the group in Berkeley again. I don’t remember the name of the model, but if you are ever in a restaurant with your children and you see her, walk out because you will bother her. I remember her ranting on about that.
